If you came to join us at the Land Rover Club last couple of months, you'll be pleased to hear that we have managed to secure another date here. It was such a great party last time and the venue went down so well with everybody that we are chuffed to have been able to book it again. If you still haven't been, don't miss it again, it's brilliant! I'm also delighted to finally be able to bring guest DJ JAVIER LA ROSA to Birmingham. He's probably the biggest Cuban Salsa DJ in the UK but also can play for a mixed night and always reads the crowd perfectly. We are planning to keep the music mix similar to last month which worked so well. We are still giving the night that cuban salsa feel, but also adding some of our usual mix of other salsa, bachata & kizomba too with DJs MAURICIO REYES & DJ JAVIER on the decks all night. DJ JAVIER (la maquina de cuba): Javier came to the UK 10 years ago from Havana Cuba, where he worked at the Castillito Cultural Centre and was involved in various musical activities. He has been DJ-ing in the UK since his arrival, playing Salsa and Timba Cubana, Reggaeton, latin Hip-Hop and R & B to suit the occasion. He was a finalist in the Bacardi's DJ Competition at Havana, Hanover Square in 2003 and featured in iD :London magazine (October 2005 edition) as one of the UKs leading emerging acts in the urban latin music scene. He has been voted ‘best Cuban DJ’ in the UK at Cuba Uk’s International Cuban Salsa Congress, November 2006./7/8

He has supported many of Cuba’s greatest musicians in concert in the UK and France. These include as ‘los Van Van’, ‘Pupy y los que son son’, ‘Maykel Blanco’, ‘Elito Reve’, ‘Sierra Maestra’, ‘Osvaldo Chacon’, ‘Paulito FG’, ‘Sur Caribe’, ‘Manolito Simonet y su trabuco’ y ‘Candido Fabre’. Post Code B92 9LN works well for SatNav, which takes you all the way to the club gates (as not really visible from the main road Lode Lane). You drive in past the sports fields and you'll be able to see the club and it's well lit, ample free car park just outside it's door.

LAND ROVER SPORTS & SOCIAL CLUB is one of the Midlands most prestigious Social Clubs. The Club consists of a quiet lounge, an entertainments lounge, family room, games room and a concert/dance hall, all of which are well decorated and comfortable. We'll be using the large Rowood Suite which is their main concert/dance hall with huge beautiful sprung wooden dance floor, stage, own bar, and perfectly located seating areas all around. PLEASE NOTE!!! Due to circumstances completely beyond our control, we've had to relocate this month's MIDLANDS SALSA SPECIAL from the Colliery Club to The JAGUAR CLUB just 5mins away in Coventry. Please help us spread the word so that everybody also not on-line gets to hear about the change before setting off on Saturday night. Luckily we've been able to secure this most beautiful dance venue as a replacement, which in many ways is even better, and even secured another 2nd alternative club room for the Kizomba party as well as the main dance hall for the Salsa Room. Apart from the venue change for this month, everything else will be as advertised previously, with doors at 8pm, Kizomba Workshops (2 levels) at 8:30pm, Salsa Workshops (4 levels) at 9:30pm, and party from 10:30pm - 2am with top teachers & djs line-up SHEETAL & JOHN, OZY SHYNE, TRACEY, AHMED, JOSE & SOPHIA, DJ GG, DJ KEV, DJ OZY & JULIAN SUMMERS.
